Default Customize Google Adsense Ads in Vbulletin 4

Hi Dave! I finally got around to registering like I said I would.

In your post from your Twilight theme over at Vbulletin.org, you had mentioned that I should customize my Adsense Ads on my site to match the Theme. I had no clue where to look for the places to change the code. But I knew that I would find out how to do it. It was pretty easy to do. I just did a Search for "Google" in the Style Templates and it came up with the ones that I needed to change.

So, I will share with everyone which templates you need to edit.

Go into your Admin Control Panel.

Styles & Templates ==> Style Manager

Select Edit Templates from the menu.

The Templates that you need to edit are under "Ad Location Templates".

There are 3 Templates that you need to replace the Google Adsense code with your Customized Adsense code. I am assuming that you already know how to make Customized Adsense Ads within Google Adsense.

    Here are the Template names:

    ad_footer_start
    ad_navbar_below
    ad_showthread_firstpost_start

The ad_showthread_firstpost_start template uses the 300x250 Google Ad format. The other 2 uses the 728x90 format.

Just replace the Google Adsense code in those 3 Templates with your customized code.

I was fairly busy yesterday customizing the Google Ads in all 12 styles on my site. I also have a Google Search bar on my site just below the header. So, I had to edit 4 Templates Per style. It took awhile. But it was worth it!

Check out my site in my Sig. Have a look at the Google Ads. Go through the different Styles and see how I customized the Ads for each Style. Even try typing in some text in the Google Search bars to see the colors that I used for that as well.

    Let me know your thoughts!

I only have one problem that I am trying to figure out. I have a Google Adsense Widget that I created which I use in the different Sections from the Sections menu on the Home page. I want to customize that with each style but now sure how. I have created a Custom Template for each Style. The template contains the Google Adsense Code. I named the Template "Google_Ad_Widget". I want to create a Widget which runs the Html code from that template and displays the Adsense Ads. Not sure how. But once again, I will figure it out. But if somebody could save me some time and tell me how to do it, that would be appreciated.

Great post!! Thanks for explaining this to people. Sometimes I assume too much, without explaining anything. Sorry about that.

You can add different adsense codes per theme by applying it from the adsense templates in admincp

style and templates > edit templates > ad location templates > Pick the right template you want.

Do this for each theme. Should work.
